Pair Of Decorative Plates Featuring Kingfishers, Limoges Porcelain, Ateliers Pastaud
Artist: Atelier Pastaud Limoges
A magnificent pair of decorative Limoges porcelain plates from the Pastaud company, circa 1930–1940. A rare design featuring kingfishers flying over a body of water in search of fish swimming peacefully and hidden beneath lotus flowers; all set against a beautiful twilight backdrop. A charming depiction of a stylized naturalistic scene where the influence of Art Nouveau is still evident; this design is entirely hand-painted, and each dish bears the signature of the artist Lamourd.
Gold border along the entire scalloped edge of the dishes.
Green stamp mark on the back.
