Manganese-glazed Majolica Plate From Albissola, 18th Century
An elegant plate made of Albissola majolica, created in the 18th century and decorated using the characteristic manganese-based technique, typical of 18th-century Ligurian production.
The rim is adorned with a refined landscape featuring architecture, stylized trees, figures, a rearing horse, birds, and numerous insects, painted in delicate brown-manganese tones on a white background. The composition, lively and rich in detail, represents one of the most popular motifs of the Albissola workshop of that era.
The manufacturer’s mark is present on the reverse. The plate is in good overall condition, with normal signs of wear consistent with the artifact’s age.
