Samurai half-mask, known as a “Mempo,” made of wrought iron with a matte black lacquer finish (slight damage).
Prominent chin, movable nose, large mustache and goatee made of brown horsehair, pierced nostrils, red-lacquered upper lip, visible upper and lower teeth, sweat hole under the chin.
The interior is lacquered red (the color red was meant to inspire courage and conceal blood).
“Yodare-kake” (neck guard) with four tiers, lacquered glossy black with blue silk braiding; the reverse side is lacquered glossy black.
