Large Maedate Decorated With An Oni Head - Edo Period (1603 - 1868).
JAPAN - Edo period (1603 - 1868).
Maedate for samurai kabuto composed of two large cut-out and openwork copper horns, the stylized tip of the Fudo-Myoo sword and a long-horned oni head with cut-out ears in black and red lacquered wood, the eyes gilded, its canines are metal.
Very slight damage to the tip of one horn.
Dimensions : 31 x 41.5 x 4 cm.
The kabuto used for presentation is not sold with the maedate.
