Nymphenburg – “lady Attacked By A Small Dog” Based On A Model By Franz Anton Bustelli

An elegant porcelain figurine from the prestigious Royal Porcelain Manufactory of Nymphenburg, depicting a young woman startled by a small dog lifting her skirt in a whimsical scene characteristic of 18th-century Rococo style.

This iconic model was created in 1756 by Franz Anton Bustelli (1723–1763), considered the greatest sculptor at the Bavarian manufactory. His talent is evident here in a composition of remarkable liveliness: the movement of the dress, the facial expression, and the dog’s mischievous demeanor lend the piece a timeless elegance and freshness.

Our example, made in the early 20th century, features exquisite modeling and delicate polychromy, highlighting the refined colors and fine craftsmanship characteristic of Nymphenburg’s productions.

The underside bears the manufacturer’s recessed marks as well as an old collector’s label.

Condition: very good overall condition. The only flaw worth noting is a small chip on the dog’s tail, which is discreet and does not affect the aesthetic quality of this charming composition.
