"Large Neo-gothic Clock In Gilded And Patinated Bronze – 19th Century"
Superb 19th century neo-Gothic style clock, made of gilt and patinated bronze. It adopts a slender architecture inspired by medieval cathedrals, adorned with pinnacles, trefoil arches, rosettes and finely openwork Gothic foliage. The circular dial, treated like a cathedral rosette, features enameled Roman numerals surrounded by a finely chiseled decoration. The openwork balance echoes the Gothic motifs of the body of the clock. The original clockwork has been fully serviced by a professional watchmaker and works perfectly. The whole is in an exceptional state of preservation, with fresh and contrasting gilding.
