Fujii Damascene Co Japanese Taishō Zogan Egyptian Revival Scent Bottle

A very rare antique Japanese Taishō period damascene/zogan scent bottle with removable tripod stand and screw stopper, circa 1922, beautifully decorated in gold inlay with ancient Egyptian figures and hieroglyphs, all in fabulous condition. Fujii Damascene Co. mark to base.

Measurements:
Height of scent bottle with stand: 15 cm (5.9 in)
Height of bottle only: 10.5 cm (4.1 in)

Condition: Exceptional. No wear to the decoration apart from the gold band that rests against the ring of the removable tripod stand (see images). Please note that any dark patches to the gold decoration in our images are due to reflections. Minor wear to the screw stopper and stand.

Notes: We have never seen a Japanese damascene/zogan scent bottle, nor any scent bottles of this unusual form. Presumably, it is following the shape of an Egyptian archaeological find.
