Large Art Nouveau-style Living Room Lamp – Based On A Design By Auguste Moreau
Artist: Auguste Moreau
An elegant and imposing table or living room lamp from the second half of the 20th century, depicting a lively workshop scene. This is a beautiful decorative reproduction based on the famous sculpture "Le Travail" (or "Le Forgeron et son fils") by the French sculptor Auguste Moreau. The sculpture depicts a craftsman passing on his expertise to a young apprentice, a classic theme cherished during the Art Nouveau period.
The figure is made of heavy white composite resin (imitating alabaster or biscuit), featuring a beautiful matte finish and well-defined details. Circular molded base made of blackened wood.
Electrification: Original period wiring in working condition (cable with switch).
Lampshade: Sold with its conical beige fabric lampshade edged with braid (shows slight signs of age, fully functional or customizable).
Style: Ideal for adding a retro, “shabby chic,” or cabinet-of-curiosities touch to a classic interior.
Total height (with lampshade): 71.5 cm
Base diameter: 18 cm (Stands very stably on the floor or on a piece of furniture)
Weight: 5.5 kg (Heavy and solid, a sturdy piece)
Condition: Overall in excellent condition. The white finish is clean and the patina is uniform.
