Superb vintage engraving, depicting a typical early 19th-century hunting scene. Produced in aquatint and finely enhanced by hand, it illustrates the refinement and precision of works after Carle Vernet (1758-1836), a French painter and draughtsman renowned for his equestrian and military scenes. The engraving is by Philibert-Louis Debucourt (1755-1832), a master engraver specializing in aquatint, known for his work on genre scenes and color prints.
The work is in good overall condition, with slightly faded colors and a few discreet freckles. To note: a very small tear on the left side. It is marouflaged on a rigid backing.
