Artist: Roma 1815 Argentiere S112l
Large silver coffee pot
38.5 cm high, weight: 1,345 g
Smooth pear-shaped body with vertical fluting on the lower section, round base decorated with acanthus leaves, spout featuring a mask and grapevines and grapes in relief, lid knob with a small figure of Bacchus, a tree, and a ram, contoured handle in ebonized wood with floral-motif end caps, Roman craftsmanship, mid-19th century. Silversmith’s mark from 1815, S112L, still to be identified, but published by Bvlgari Calissoni as hallmark no. 1211, which corresponds precisely to this rare large coffee pot, alongside the Papal States’ Chamber Hallmark, mandatory on authentic Roman silverware.
