Made by the silversmith firm Ravinet d'Enfert, the company was founded in 1845 by E. Tonnelier and acquired in 1882 by Louis Ravinet (1854-1925). In 1891, Charles d'Enfert (1865-1960) partnered with Louis Ravinet, and the company adopted the name Ravinet d'Enfert. In 1923, Louis Ravinet and Charles d'Enfert entrusted the management of the company to their sons, André Ravinet (1889-1971) and Jacques d'Enfert (1900-1982), by establishing a limited liability company. The Ravinet-d'Enfert company exhibited regularly and received numerous awards: gold medal at the Lyon exhibition in 1894 and at the Brussels Universal Exhibition in 1897. It was also present at the major exhibitions of 1900, 1925 and 1937.
