Antique large inkwell in 925/000 sterling silver, London, letter T, year “1894,” still bearing Queen Victoria’s mark; it was given as a gift in 1933, as indicated by the inscription on the central part, where a small sculpture of a dog in the round stands out. 925 sterling silver by Master Silversmith (among the best, ed.) EDWARD BARNARD & Sons, listed by JACKSON’S as “MAJOR MANUFACTURERS,” the “Bible” of English hallmarks. The weight is remarkable for an inkwell: 1.930 kg of solid silver.
