Set of twelve ice cream spoons in solid silver gilded with a thick layer of vermeil by Boin, Paris, circa 1880–1900. Louis XVI-style design featuring a medallion adorned with a ribbon. The scoop is adorned with an oval medallion suspended from a ribbon bow, surrounded by laurel branches and resting on a cluster of leaves and ears of grain. They are inspired by a Louis XVI-era dessert cover designed by the Parisian silversmith Langlois. Hallmark featuring the head of Minerva for the first fineness (950%) and the silversmith’s diamond-shaped hallmark bearing the name “BOIN.”
