Georges Flakenberg - 6 Silver Fruit Knives
Set of 6 silver fruit knives, by silversmith Georges Falkenberg (working from 1894 to 1928).
The stuffed silver handles are hallmarked with minerve, as are the blades, which are also silver.
In a revisited Louis XVI style, the chic, refined and timeless decoration of the handles reveals oblique fluting, crossed ribbons, small floral garlands and a rounded "violin" end.
We note that two blades, slightly wider, feature the signature G. FALKENBERG PARIS as well as the minerve hallmark and the goldsmith's hallmark, while the other four blades show only the minerve hallmark and the goldsmith's hallmark.
Very fine condition, we note a few use scratches on the blades.
French work of the late 19th century, early 20th century, hallmarked with minerve.
