Rare 18th-century Champagne-style stew spoon in solid silver, plain-bottomed design. Engraved on the handle: "J B PILLOY". Hallmarks of charge and discharge for large pieces from the jurisdiction of Châlons-sur-Marne, 1781–89, Hallmark of the Common House for REIMS 1781 (Crowned F) and hallmark of Master Silversmith Antoine Nicolas ALLARD (hallmark with the initials “ANA,” a holy ampoule, all crowned).
