Rik Bourguignon, 1901–2001, Belgian painter of landscapes, seascapes, and still lifes. He studied at the academies in Antwerp, Brussels, and Paris. He worked for many years with Alfred Bastien and Servais Detilleux. He began his career painting landscapes and still lifes. Around 1965, his first views of the North Sea appeared, which brought him success. He also specialized in miniature painting on gold leaf. He served as director of the Vanderkelen Higher Institute of Painting in Brussels. The artist is listed in Bénézit, Arto, and Piron (Dictionaries of Belgian Painters).
