Pair Of Gilded Bronze Candlesticks With Salamander Lizards, Barbedienne, Napoleon III, 19th Century
Pair of finely chiseled bronze candlesticks with two patinas, the bowl chiseled with vine and grape motifs, fluted shaft from which which a small lizard or salamander descends, tripod base shaped like lion’s paws and featuring a plant motif, crafted in the style of Barbedienne, from the Napoleon III period, 19th century.
These candlesticks are in good overall condition, in their original state. They are very decorative. One candle holder is missing. The lizards move slightly on the shaft.
