Khorjins are carrying bags that were once used by the nomadic peoples of Persia.
Most often—and this is the case here—they consist of a front panel made with a knotted stitch, while the back is woven, with both layers made of wool.
On the upper part of the front, the slit closure system is clearly visible, with eyelets that securely fasten the bag’s opening. This section is woven and embroidered. The entire closure system is intact and functional.
The front features a fairly short pile that reveals stylized motifs against a deep, saturated indigo blue background.
The back is woven extremely tightly in a succession of horizontal bands, again featuring this indigo blue in two distinct shades against a brown background.
The piece is in perfect condition.
