Olio su tela raffigurante un paesaggio ondulato e boscoso, in riva a uno specchio d'acqua, dominato da una casa dalle pareti verdi e dal tetto rosso, con una bandiera francese che sventola su un'asta. Secondo una tradizione orale tramandata da un precedente proprietario, questo edificio potrebbe essere stato un antico posto di frontiera, ipotesi che tuttavia resta da confermare. La pennellata impastata, la costruzione per piani successivi dal primo piano erboso allo sfondo boscoso, e la resa naturalistica della luce appartengono alla tradizione del paesaggio rurale francese di inizio Novecento.
