Henri II Walnut Dining Set, Late 19th Century
A rare and remarkable Henri II-style dining room set, from a former bourgeois home in the Landes region. Complete, uniform, and featuring fine cabinetry, it consists of:
- a large, richly carved two-part sideboard,;
- a matching serving table with a marble top and built-in mirror;
- a large dining table with four original extension leaves;
- rugby matching chairs upholstered in their original embossed leather;
- a large matching mirror.
The set features superb decoration inspired by the French Renaissance: high-relief carvings, turned columns, finely molded panels, elegant bronze hardware, and a beautiful antique patina. The embossed leather on the chairs is in excellent condition.
The table offers exceptional dimensions, extending from 128 cm to 318 cm thanks to its four original extension leaves, allowing it to accommodate numerous guests.
