Louis XV-era Marquetry Chest Of Drawers – 18th Century
An elegant Louis XV-era chest of drawers with four drawers arranged in three rows. It is inlaid with rosewood and violetwood marquetry featuring a herringbone scroll pattern, and richly adorned with original chiseled and gilded bronze fittings: drawer pulls, lock plates, feet, and lamp bases.
The top is made of veined red marble, following the curved shape of the front. Its harmonious proportions, the delicacy of the marquetry, and the quality of the bronze fittings make this a piece of great refinement.
