Japanese Lacquer Box With Goldfish - Japan
Lacquered wooden box decorated with two "Kingyo" goldfish.
Inscriptions on the bottom in Japanese indicate that the piece was commissioned for Yasuhachi Kobayashi of the Tokyo Music School, a trumpeter and conductor of the “Navy Band.”
Dated Showa 8, or 1933.
