"Japanese Ceramic Tea Caddy (shiragaki) - Japan"
Chai-ire, a beige and rust-colored ceramic tea caddy from Shiragaki, with a carved bone lid covered in gold leaf on the inside. The ceramic is unglazed (Youhen), giving it a raw, rustic look typical of Shiragaki ceramics. The piece bears the artist's seal, Keishi Imai, on the underside. It also comes with its original shifuku silk bag and box, signed by the artist. Japan, circa 1940, 8.8 x 5.5 cm.
