Antique Japanese inrō in black lacquer, composed of several compartments. One side is decorated with a traditional Japanese landscape featuring a pavilion, mountains, and stylized vegetation, enhanced with gilt details and mother-of-pearl inlays. The other side displays a calligraphic design composed of vertically arranged gilt Japanese characters, accompanied by seals (signatures), imitating a literati inscription. The interior is lacquered in gold. The original cord and decorative netsuke are present. A beautiful piece of Japanese art, representative of the refinement and craftsmanship of lacquerware.
