Very beautiful Japanese inro on a gold kinji lacquer background, the decoration, on one side, represents a phoenix flying above the paulownia, and on the other side a floral decoration under stylized clouds surrounding the top of the inro, is in hira maki-e. The interior of the compartments is gold nashiji. The ojime, round in shape with a silver metal rim, is made of yellow glass. The ivory netsuke represents Hotei seated against his bag, God of happiness.
