Christofle: Six Silver- And Gold-plated Spoons With A Rocaille Shell Design.
A beautiful set of six silver-plated spoons by Christofle.
The spatulas feature a naturalistic shell shape and a swirling pattern reminiscent of waves or seaweed, which extends into a plain handle. The handle joins the back of the spoon bowl with a design echoing the swirls of the spatula.
The interior of the spoon bowl is gilded.
Each spoon is hallmarked:
. “Christofle” in full
. Square silversmith’s hallmark: “CC” with a balance and a bee within a square on a point, all within a square frame.
This model is truly beautiful, combining purity of form with meticulous craftsmanship in the spoon bowl and the coiled rocaille motifs. The gilding on the spoon bowl lends this set a sense of preciousness.
