The center of the dish is adorned with the imperial monogram “N,” set within a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon and surrounded by a scattering of gilded bees, emblems of the Empire.
The wide rim is richly embellished with an engraved gilded frieze, while the two openwork handles facilitate handling.
