Paris Porcelain Plate - Halley Workshop - Circa 1800

Set against a white background, the basin is adorned with a polychrome design depicting a perched bird resting on a mound adorned with foliage and flowers, set against a landscape backdrop. The rim is adorned with a rich gold decoration consisting of scrollwork and delicate leafy garlands arranged in regular coils, punctuated alternately by small stars and circular rosettes. The bowl and the rim are outlined with broad gold fillets.
