Carved Oak Chest With Griffins, Louis XIII Period, 17th Century

A very beautiful antique solid oak chest, Louis XIII style, dating from the 17th century.
It features a richly ornamented front with two carved panels decorated with stylized griffins surrounded by foliate scrolls.
The composition is structured by uprights with geometric relief decoration and molded vertical elements, typical of late Renaissance/early Louis XIII production. The carving is deep, expressive, and well-preserved, offering a beautiful decorative effect.
The chest rests on its original small feet and features traditional pegged construction, a guarantee of authenticity.
The top is made of wide, antique planks with a natural patina.
The whole piece has a beautiful, warm, and even patina, with signs of age consistent with its age, contributing to its charm.
