19th-Century Restoration-Era Mahogany Sewing Table
Authentic and elegant sewing table (also known as a seamstress’s table or chiffonnière) from the Restoration period (circa 1820–1830), made of mahogany veneer.
This refined parlor piece opens to reveal a drop-down top equipped with a lock.
An original mirror is integrated beneath the drop-down top, and a chest divided into several wooden compartments for storing sewing supplies, jewelry, or little secrets.
Its large original sewing bag, made of yellow pleated fabric and hung on the side, is designed to hold needlework or embroidery projects.
Two upright posts connected by a geometric crossbar resting on a plinth base with four ball-footed legs.
In very good overall condition with a beautiful patina
The structure is in very sound condition
Minor cosmetic restoration is recommended: light cleaning of the wood and minor touch-ups
The piece is fully functional and stable
