Around 1920: Light-colored Horn Cane With A Gold Ferrule And A Shaft Made Of Exotic Wood
In the 1920s, the range of materials available for crafting luxurious walking sticks for the elegant gentleman was endless.
Back then, it was unthinkable to go out without a cane, gloves, and a hat.
Here, the choice fell on a very dark red, wavy shaft—perhaps mahogany or an exotic wood no longer commonly used today— a handle made of contrasting horn of infinite lightness, and an openwork gold ferrule covering a thin ivory disc.
The tip is made of brown horn.
The assembly is executed to perfection.
The gold ferrule has been inspected (it’s difficult to get a clear photo of the hallmark).
