Large Panel Of Glazed Ceramic Tiles Signed By Doller
Still Life with Fruit and Flowers – Spain, circa 1950
A large decorative panel composed of hand-painted glazed ceramic tiles, depicting an elegant still life featuring grapes, pears, apples, and a bouquet of flowers in an interior setting. The composition is framed by a superb Spanish-inspired frieze with stylized motifs.
The work is signed “Doller” in the lower right corner. Another panel by the same artist was sold at public auction in Madrid at Abalarte Subastas in April 2024, attesting to the existence of this Spanish decorative art tradition.
The painting is of very high quality, with magnificent colors that remain vivid. The slight crazing in the enamel, which is perfectly natural, lends this composition a great deal of charm and character.
A large-format decorative piece, particularly elegant, ideal for a kitchen, dining room, or a home with character.
