Rare “oranger” Floor Lamp – European Design – 1970 – XXeme
A rare and spectacular sculptural floor lamp depicting an orange tree, made entirely of painted metal.
The trunk and branches feature a design of cut-out leaves and finely crafted metal fruit. Two light sources are topped with conical lampshades made of natural fibers. The entire piece rests on an elegant square brass planter with white panels.
With its aesthetic, this piece is part of the Hollywood Regency style and evokes Italian and German botanical designs from the 1970s.
The quality of craftsmanship and style bring it close to the creations of Hans Kögl and certain Florentine workshops such as Banci Firenze, though attribution cannot be confirmed.
Original electrical wiring in working condition.
