Brassware Vase - Christofle / Luc Lanel - Art Deco - France - XX Th C
Dinanderie vase, Art Deco model - circa 1930
Designed by Luc Lanel for Christofle, Gallia collection.
Elegant ovoid vase resting on a circular pedestal and topped by a slightly flared neck. Made in dinanderie, it features a metal structure (copper alloy) enriched with applied and patinated decoration.
The surface is enlivened by a typically Art Deco geometric decoration, composed of interlocking angular motifs - squares, rectangles and diagonal lines.
This model perfectly illustrates the style of Luc Lanel, Christofle's artistic director between the wars, known for his creations blending geometric abstraction and refined materials. It is part of the French decorative arts revival of the 1920s-1930s.
The vase is signed Christofle on the reverse, with the number 473 and the letter G. This marking corresponds to the production of the Gallia collection and confirms Art Deco period manufacture, in line with the models designed by Luc Lanel for Christofle.
