Black Louis Vuitton Trunk - France - 20th Century (1910)

An elegant Louis Vuitton trunk made of black-coated canvas, dating from the early 20th century, in excellent condition and featuring a beautiful original patina. It is adorned with its original brass hardware, corner reinforcements, side handles, and period clasps.

The trunk retains its exterior “Louis Vuitton Motor Trunks – Paris London” medallions, its interior label reading “Louis Vuitton – 1 Rue Scribe, Paris – 149 New Bond Street, London,” as well as its serial number, attesting to its authenticity.

The interior retains its removable compartmentalized tray and securing straps. The lining on the bottom of the main compartment appears to have been restored or replaced in the past. One of the strap fasteners is broken. The interior also shows stains and signs of wear consistent with its age.

The exterior shows some signs of use, scuffs, and general wear, none of which affect the overall sturdiness of the piece. The trunk remains in good condition and makes for a beautiful collector’s item or a remarkable decorative piece.
