Console - Lacquer / Marble - Dlg Jansen - France - 20th Century
Artist: Dlg Jansen
Neo-Art Deco console in blue lacquer, in the style of Jansen, circa 1970. This elegant Art Deco-inspired console was made around 1970, in the style of the Parisian firm Maison Jansen. The architectural structure is made of deep blue lacquered wood, highlighted by brass stringing and framing that accentuate the geometric lines. The rectangular top is made of polished light marble with slightly veined cream hues. The console rests on four rectangular legs connected by a wide lower shelf, forming a balanced and highly decorative composition. This piece illustrates the 1970s taste for reinterpreting Art Deco lines, using fine materials and an elegant contrast between colored lacquer, brass, and marble. An ideal console for an entryway, living room, or as a decorative accent piece.
