Bird-shaped Salt Or Perfume Bottle Made Of Solid Silver And Glass. Parrot Design.
A stunning little glass and silver bottle.
The body of the bottle is made of thick blown glass.
The exceptional mount is shaped like a parrot’s head, with feathers from its neck cascading down onto the bottle’s shoulder.
The parrot depicted is likely a cockatoo, recognizable by the crest of feathers on top of its head.
The carving and engraving are particularly well done.
It features a small emery stopper, and the inside of the neck is lined with cork to ensure the bottle is airtight.
I did not find a hallmark on the silver portion, but it was tested with a touchstone.
A magnificent bottle, featuring this very rare and finely crafted bird-shaped design.
