Boulle-style Console Table, 19th Century
Probably made of blackened oak, this piece features tortoiseshell marquetry highlighted by visible brass trim on the front door. A large domed medallion adorns this marquetry work. The piece is richly decorated with gilded bronze: various friezes of stylized ovals and palmettes, caryatids on the corner posts, and mascarons at the center of the sides. Finally, a black marble top crowns the piece.
A few natural streaks or veins are visible on the marble top, on the left side. Two dents in the wood are visible on the left side panel. There is evidence of restoration inside the door, in the center, along its entire length. The marquetry decoration is in very good condition.
Good overall condition.
