Large, Carved Baroque Ceremonial Throne From The 19th Century
An imposing and exceptionally rare throne or ceremonial armchair, crafted from carved and gilded wood, featuring Baroque elements. It is distinguished by a magnificent backrest 170 cm high and red damask upholstery. Dating from the second half of the 19th century and crafted in the Neo-Baroque style, the top of the backrest features a central female face carved in relief, surrounded by floral garlands and hand-carved gilded details. The wide, curved armrests feature openwork decoration and end in pronounced, outward-curving scrolls. The chair rests on curved legs connected at their center by a remarkable decorative X-shaped crossbar. Dimensions: H 170 cm, W 92 cm, D 85 cm. Excellent condition; ready for immediate installation.
