"Pair Of Candelabra With Bacchantes, 19th Century"
Pair of Empire candelabra in patinated and gilded bronze decorated with bacchantes. They are dressed in long pleated tunics swirling around their feet and hold two light arms in the shape of cornucopias. Their heads support a socket decorated with laurel leaves. The pedestal is decorated with a figure of a dancer holding a veil over her head and two thyrses, sticks surrounded by vine branches and topped with a pine cone associated with the god Bacchus.
Golden patina slightly blackened in places.
Slight instability at the level of one of the two bacchantes.
Good general condition.
