1st grade Minerva hallmark near the neck and Philippe Berthier hallmark (initials PB with a woodcock) under the base. This master silversmith was active in Paris from 1841, first at 23 rue aux Ours, then at 63 passage Beaufort and finally at 21 rue Quincampoix. The woodcock hallmark, following a first hallmark for the garden well, was indicted on June 5, 1847. Berthier produced many silver objects (tastevins, cutlery, cups, cups, etc.) during the Second Empire and his company was taken over in 1883 by Alphonse Debain, who kept the woodcock motif for his own hallmark.
