Enrique Broglia (1942–2013), Abstract Gilded Bronze Sculpture, 20th Century
An arrangement of half-discs with a finish that is both smooth on the surface and organic along the edges.
Beautiful work creating a surface that is both empty and full, thanks to the positioning of the discs.
Signed “Broglia” and marked “Nice” on the reverse.
As is.

Uruguayan artist and sculptor.[1]
He won several major awards—the first was at the National Fine Arts Salon of Uruguay in 1961. The year 1965 was a turning point in his career; it was in New York that he exhibited for the first time. In 1968, he moved to Paris, and during the 1970s, he created large sculptures that now occupy various public spaces in France. Following that, he received several commissions from around the world—in Japan, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, and the United States.
His work, which is fundamentally sculptural and features significant metal pieces, is characterized by forms in which the artist juxtaposes opposites in a tension that evokes complex sensations in the viewer. Yet this tension ultimately resolves into a state of balance.
