A beautiful carved and engraved wooden panel displaying a collection  of hunting buttons, a 19th-century French primitive..
Violin-shaped oak panel with an applied border carved of pearls and scrollwork.
Its background, naively engraved, is adorned with two rosettes and foliated scrollwork.
It is set with twenty hunting buttons, of various sizes, featuring game profiles, from patinated and gilded metal.
These are inlaid and secured to the back by their original rings, held in place by metal pins and wires.
The whole is crowned on top with a gilded medallion depicting a guardian angel.
