Beautiful small mahogany panel painted by Désiré Lucas at the end of the 19th century.

Delicate twilight, and splendid fire sky. Signed lower right
inset into the material.
Désiré Lucas was a French painter born in 1869 in Fort-de-France and died
in Douarnenez in 1949.
A student at the Beaux Arts of Bouguereau , Tony Robert-Fleury and
Jules Lefebvre, he exhibited at the salon,first in 1893 and 1894, portraits of women
then Breton scenes. he is well referenced and featured in museums.
On the back of the painting, is pasted the paragraph dedicated to him in the Bénézit,
dictionary of painters, sculptors, draughtsmen, engravers etc...
There are also some annotations that are difficult to decipher and a date that seems to me to be
1894.
