French Art Deco Console In Ebonite
A striking and elegant French Art Deco console from the 1930s, bearing witness to the refined geometric style and exceptional craftsmanship characteristic of the period.
The design revolves around a magnificent sculptural base composed of two flowing ebonized vertical uprights, resting gracefully on four tapered legs. In the center, a decorative fluted mount in cast gilt bronze provides a subtle contrast to the rich black finish and lends the piece a distinctive architectural dimension.
The console retains its original mirrored glass top, a valuable asset that reinforces its authenticity and period character. As might be expected of an original mirror of this age, it has some superficial scratches and pitting, signs of its age and use. The mirror is in good condition and contributes greatly to the table's charm, but can easily be replaced with a new mirror top if the purchaser prefers an impeccable appearance.
With its particularly compact proportions, this low console is ideal for an entrance hall, living room, bedroom or apartment, where its elegant Art Deco silhouette blends harmoniously into the space.
Fully restored, it presents itself in excellent condition, with a magnificent revived ebony finish and impeccable detailing.
