Art Deco bust of a boy in terra cotta signed Ugo Cipriani early 20th

Created by Italian artist Ugo Cipriani (1887-1960), this "Terre cuite d'art" bust from the Art Deco period (1910-1939) depicts a boy, with richly wavy hair.

Figured in flamed terra cotta stamped "Terre cuite d'art" & signed on the terrace, it is imbued with an "in-between" style, at once deeply neoclassical, we feel the Art Deco movement rubbing off on elements of this design, between realism & stylistic geometry.

Stable, sturdy, its form will make this objet d'art as much a beautiful decorative element in a living room on a piece of furniture, as in a study in a library between books! I don't recommend putting it in an outdoor setting, unless it's sheltered from wind, rain & frost (e.g.: Veranda.)
