Large Crystal Drageoir Cut In The Baccarat Style Of The 19th Century

This drageoir is one of those items that have stood the test of time, in the historicity of its use, drageoirs were in churches or religious offices, serving to contain hosts in the manner of a ciborium.
In the 19th century, the drageoir's function was democratized, and it left churches to join the tableware of bourgeois & Catholic homes, and candy stalls, aiming to be more noble in their furnishings. Its shape is typical of the Baccarat crystal works of the 19th century, although not marked as such.
Its large size makes it a rare piece of table art, in very good overall condition, the only wear being the traces of rubbing under the base, which are normal given its age, confirming its authenticity.
