An elegant Satsuma ceramic cricket cage, decorated in the Gosu Blue technique and enriched with dense polychrome enamels heightened with gilt details.
The handle is conceived as a draped ribbon tied in a bow, adorned with butterflies and chrysanthemums, surrounding the pierced inner cage. The latter, together with the cover, features an openwork lattice design, while the knob is modelled in the form of chrysanthemum flowers and leaves, continuing the decorative motif throughout the composition.
