Rare 18th century reverse glass painting depicting Samson and Delilah. The scene shows Samson lying on Delilah’s lap while a third figure approaches with scissors to cut the hero’s hair, the central episode of the biblical story.
The work is executed in reverse on the back of the glass according to the reverse glass painting technique.
Good state of preservation.
Dark wood frame with gilt filet. The reverse is closed with an old wooden backing panel.
