Between Cat And Dogs II By Jacques Nam
Artist: Jacques Nam
Page with a long-haired white cat and two dogs drawn in different attitudes, probably a book illustration project. The drawing is signed in the upper right by Jacques Nam (1881-1974).
After a spell in Jean-Léon Gérôme's studio at the Paris Ecole des Beaux-Arts, he specialized in press illustration, contributing in particular to La Vie Parisienne, Le Rire and Le Sourire. His talent for depicting animals, especially cats, led him to collaborate with Colette on a four-handed book, Chats.
The drawing is framed by a coaster and measures 21x26 cm.
